Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! Everybody needs them, after all, they are what puts food on the table at the end of the day. If you are looking for employment in the oil industry, think again, think green, think clean. Here are 10 jobs in the oil industry that are the same as in the wind industry.

Engineer(s):

In a nutshell, engineers in these industries have the crucial responsibility of product designing and the supervision/assistance of the production of these wells and wind turbines to make sure it is executed safely and efficiently. Other specific tasks vary on the different types of engineers. These are the types of engineers that are needed for both wind and oil:

  • Civil engineers

  • Electrical engineers

  • Environmental engineers

  • Industrial engineers

  • And mechanical engineers

Geoscientist(s):

A geoscientist uses gathered geological information to produce geologic maps, charts, and scientific reports to determine results. Generally, they specialize in engineering, exploration, and environmental protection geology. For example, a geologist working in the wind industry would determine the most suitable area to place a wind farm considering environmental damage and other aspects.

Construction worker(s):

The production of a windfarm or an oil well would not be possible without construction workers. Here are some specific types of construction workers that are needed for both wind and oil construction:

  • Construction laborers

  • Operating engineers and other construction equipment operators;

  • Electricians

  • And truck drivers

Well, there you have it! 10 oil jobs that can also be clean energy jobs.
