Frequently Asked Questions

 1

Are there any other costs that I should be aware of?

If you choose to purchase the solar panels with a cash purchase you will be the owner of the system so you would be liable for any cost if something were to happen to the inverter. The warranty covers repair, replacement, etc.

 2

When the solar panels life is over, what happens then? New lease? Would there be a large charge to change them?

When the lease is completed, you have the option to renew the lease an update your equipment with the new technologies that exist then. (Price would depend on the technology at that time, but we might be able to reuse the racking technology so it would be cheaper)

It is important to know two things after the 25 years:

1) The panels will last 5-10 years more after the lease is done.

2) If after the 25- 30 years you decide to take the panels out that is an extra fee outside of the lease. (If you decide to renew the lease the switching of the technology would be included in the new lease)

 3

I’m still paranoid that the snow won’t melt off the panels in the winter. How confident is Naveco that this will happen? What happens if it doesn’t?

The panels will be able to melt the snow as they are constantly hot because they are producing electricity and they are installed at an angle that will help the snow to slide off. When we have snowstorm with 15cm of snow, the panels will take longer to melt it off. The production won't be as affected as you might think and snow is a factor we calculate on the numbers we gave you regarding the kWh output.

 4

Naveco takes care of getting the Net meter system installed along with all of the inspections and approvals correct?

Yes our lease and cash purchase price covers Net Metering, Building permits and any other permit or inspection you will require.

 5

Will my solar panels generate electricity during cloudy, rainy, or snowy days?

Solar panels work just fine. Even in low light or foggy conditions, the panels are able to capture the sun’s energy. However, the capacity will be slightly lower.
