 Did you know that buildings, including our homes, account for 18% of Canada's greenhouse gas   emissions? Canada's Greener Homes Grant program pursues helping homeowners make their   homes more energy efficient, creating new jobs across Canada for energy advisors and fighting   climate change. 

Up to 700,000 grants available

Homeowners can apply for up to $5,000 to install solar panels in their homes. It provides funds for home evaluations and for retrofits, for a total of $5,600

EnerGuide evaluations

Homeowners will count on expert advisors worth up to $600 that will guide them through the planning of their home retrofits. Advisors will conduct a study of your home's energy efficiency.

    Regardless of where you live, you can participate by providing proof of ownership and demonstrating that your property is your primary residence. Check the property types that are eligible here.
  • Register and book your pre-retrofit evaluation

    Apply either online or by phone here. Check if provincial programs are available for you to apply through them.
  • Plan, document & enjoy!
    After your pre-retrofit evaluation, plan and explore the retrofits that are suitable for your home. Your recommended retrofits by your advisor will be reimbursed. Enjoy the benefits renewable energy has to offer for your home.
